Harley-Davidson® Custom Kings

The Custom Kings competition, in its second year, is a nationwide competition available to all Harley-Davidson® dealerships in the continental United States, about 690. The competition is to create a custom motorcycle within a tight time frame of 62 days. All motorcycles use the same base model and have the same budget.

Here at Hellbender Harley-Davidson®, we decided to customize the 2016 Harley-Davidson® Sportster 883 Low. We cut and modified the frame for swingarm mount rear fender. We added 21" front and rear Ride Rite wheels, HHI mid glide front end and raked trees, Widow Maker hand shift with clutch. We used the Sportster 48 fuel tank with lift, Spitfire spring struts, LA Choppers handlebars, Two Brothers Racing exhaust, Harley-Davidson® solo seat, black daymaker headlight, and chrome engine kit.

All work was done in house at Hellbender Harley-Davidson®. The paint used for this build is House of Kolor Cobalt Blue over gold metalflake with 70's inspired Harley-Davidson® AMF tank decals. This bike was built for the 2016 Harley-Davidson® Custom Kings competition and was one of four bikes in the country to represent Harley-Davidson® at bike week in Daytona. Thanks to: Highway 53 Garage (Ed, Derrick, and Poppy). Southern Auto Body Supplies Calhoun (Ricky & Wesley) and Lost Mountain Hot Rods (Bryan Jones).

Jayla got her name in honor of former Team member Eddie Phipps’ 13 year old niece who passed away. She loved the retro style and her favorite color was blue.
